This Stroll is another that the BCC has as a Heritage Trail, though we will not waste too much time reading from it – this Stroll is long enough without stopping too often.
You will visit the sites, but not the structures, of wharves, a prison, a theatre, an army camp, and the still existing very handsome Anglican Church, a fire station, railway station, racecourse, and 4 very lovely old homes, and there is more (with or without steak knives.)
As well, there is a wander & wonder through the horse racing temples of Bris Vegas, our wartime industrial landscape and an abandoned railway line.
Hamilton & Ascot are very pretty parts of our City, with lovely old houses surrounded by lush gardens & lawns. Your jaw will drop at the opulence of some of these homes – and the cars parked beside them. April/May have the best weather.
If you have not been of a Stroll before, this is one to attend – longish but faltish and in a lovely suburb.
