All tracks at Binna Burra will be walked, led by members from all the Brisbane bushwalking clubs.

The journey by car can take anywhere between 1½hr to 2hr depending on traffic on the M1 or the Beechmont Rd and Binna Burra Rd.

The BWQ Pilgrimage is an annual gathering of all bushwalking clubs, so that you can meet, talk to and learn from like-minded people who love walking and love our bush.
 
Come along to the-Pilgrimage weekend based at Binna Burra Lodge. Come for the weekend or just for Saturday or Sunday, or both. This outing will focus on walking and socialising. There will be no bush dance and no Pilgrimage fee.
 
Clubs will lead walks on the Lamington NP graded track system on both Saturday & Sunday. Evey track will be walked (some twice), led by experienced leaders of one of the SEQ bushwalking clubs. Check out the above websites for descriptions of the walks. You can do any of the walks, not just the ones BCBC is leading. There will be a mixture of walkers from all clubs on each of the walks. Meet and talk to members of other clubs to get a different perspective on walking, areas to walk in and equipment carried.
 
The Walks: Binna Burra is on the edge of Lamington National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland and is on top of the plateau. The NP graded tracks follow either the ridge tops or the creeks. The ridges remain on top of the plateau, going through the rainforest and out to the lookouts. These tracks tend to remain dry (but can be boggy after rain though they dry out fast), cross few creeks, are reasonably flattish, and zig zag around as the ridge twists & turns. Views from the lookouts are spectacular; looking out to the mountains nearby, out to the ocean, and sometimes into the distance. They give you a good perspective over the McPherson Range and the Tweed Valley.
 
The creeks, however, are the opposite. They follow the watercourses and gullies either from the cliffs above, but more so along & across the banks. You will be crossing the creeks on occasions by rocks & slabs, going through the ferns and palms along the rocky banks, over the peninsulas as these watercourses twist their way down to the plains below. There will be side creeks and gullies to cross along the way. The forest is a deep green, lush and vegetation is up close & personal The rainforest here is very pretty. There may be view spots when you get to the headwaters if they are near an escarpment. The difference along the creeks io the vegetation & terrain of the ridges is amazing – both are pretty in their own way.
 
The graded tracks are short & long. They are your typical graded track or are a bush track. They can be on solid ground or can be on soft earth or through river rocks. The creek crossings can be easy, or some can be a bit more challenging. All fun though.

Where to meet on Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday:
The gathering spot on Friday & Saturday evenings will be the Groom’s Cottage with conviviality around the fire-pit; walkers may wish to bring some nibbles to share. Snacks and drinks can be purchased in Groom’s Cottage; and the nearby Teahouse is available for meals. A self-catering cooking facility is located nearby.
