It is a beautiful alfresco café, next to the tennis centre & well lit. They catch some lovely river breezes too. They have a diverse menu although I love their wood fired pizzas, the most. This is the club’s first visit although it is familiar territory to many members through their association with UQ as well as day walks & strolls via the campus

I recommend catching public transport or off campus street parking. The University of Queensland is very well connected by buses and ferries. 

Public Transport: It has two major transport hubs for buses, UQ lakes and UQ chancellors place as well as the ferry service. UQ lakes and ferry terminal is closer to the café (7 minute walk). Please click on the map link or use google maps if unfamiliar. It is huge campus and you can easily get lost for hours. The campus is quite lively and well lit until late in the evening, so it is quite relaxing to walk around after dinner (my favourite part is the great court and the UQ union precinct). Of course there is also an afternoon stroll planned very soon.

Parking off campus ie side streets

You can also park along Carr st / Keith st/ Macquarie st (there are two sections of this street), in St Lucia; it is free parking (2 hour limit applies until 6 pm). Give yourself 10 minutes to walk to the café via the rowing shed or along Fred Schonnel drive.

Parking on Campus!! At this time of year, the university is in full swing. It is paid parking on campus until 9 pm. Please don’t take risks, the parking inspectors are very efficient until 9 pm doing patrols especially during the semester. For closer access it is best park along Sir William McGregor dr along the river section behind the tennis courts. Do not park next to the café as it is reserved for permit holders.

You can’t miss the bright lights of the tennis courts.
