Banyabba Nature Reserve is most likely an area that the club has never previously visited.  It is at the Southern End of the Richmond Range as it peters out towards the Clarence River.  Friday afternoon we will depart Brisbane and should arrive on the property we are staying around Sunset.  We have some rudimentary accommodation we can stay in or you can bring your tent and set up your camp next to the hut.  You will need to bring all your sleeping gear but will not need any cooking gear or cutlery etc.

On Saturday we will be following a series of fire trails and off track slopes to climb Mt Marsh which is 502 metres and sits over 300 metres above the plains.  Most of the walk will be through open Eucalypt forests but with the occasional rainforest gullies.  From Mt Marsh we will head north through the reserve and follow the watershed between Camira Creek and Myall Creek back to the start.  Walking on Saturday will somewhat depend on the level of scunge we tackle but will be in the region of 15 to 20km.

On Sunday we will do a shorter trip (approx. 10km) around the property we are staying on following some rocky escarpments and cliff lines which will primarily be off track.  We will be back to our accommodation ideally in time for lunch before our return journey to Brisbane.

Contact me if you would like to nominate for the walk.
