Join us for a hassle-free day exploring the beauty of Bribie Island—no need to worry about traffic or parking!
Our adventure begins at Roma Street Station, where we’ll catch the train to Caboolture. From there, a connecting bus will take us to Bribie Island, where we’ll disembark at the Visitor Information Centre.
From here we’ll enjoy a leisurely 30-minute walk along the path skirting the edge of the National Park, leading us to our first stop, the Community Centre. Enjoy morning tea, (refreshments are available to purchase if you wish) and take time to explore artworks created by local artists. There is also a gem exhibition happening on the weekend.
After morning tea we’ll hop on the local bus (still only 50 cents) to the Seaside Museum. The museum features First Nations Elder stories, a theatre showing films about the famous S.S Koopa (1180-1953), stories of Bribie Island’s important role during World War II, and the story of internationally renowned artist Ian Fairweather. There are also interactive displays to enjoy.
If you are interested the Rotary markets will also be open nearby.
After our culture filled morning, we’ll take another relaxing 30-minute walk to our lunch spot.
Following lunch, we’ll visit the delightful Butterfly House where we’ll learn the butterfly life cycle and get up close to many stunning species. With a bit of luck, you might even have one land on you!
After our visit, it will be time to catch the bus back to Caboolture Station then board the train back to Roma Street.
For those you prefer to meet us directly on Bribie Island, there will be an opportunity to do so, just contact me for details.
Come on a wonderful day of culture, history and nature of Bribie!
